Unlike Pentimento with excessive numbers of staff pretending to look busy at 5 p.m. in an empty environment, Bistro Cassis had a team of waiters working collectively as a group in an almost-packed restaurant. Instead of a manager eating dinner in full view of the public at Pentimento, the manager at Cassis constantly paced the floor watching for table openings and observing the crowd. It is no wonder that Bistro Cassis in Huntington is a favorite of many--first class cuisine and exceptional service. I enjoyed my meal of onion soup, pecan-crusted chicken in honey chestnut au jus, with asparagus and sweet potato-buttered squash gratin (truly tasty), creme brulee, and Sancerre white wine. I will have to return to try the carmelized tarte with goat cheese and other enticing items on their menu!

Sunday night my family and I dined at Garden Grill in Smithtown, not only was there something for everyone on their menu, the portions were large from appetizer to dessert, plenty of food! Food came out hot and everything was delicious! Staff was extremely friendly and very helpful. Will definitely be back. Highly recommend!

Had dinner Saturday night @ BK Sweeney's Uptown Grill. We were seated imediately, but we feel we got the bum's rush out of there. The place was really very nice. We ordered drinks and the waitress came and took our order. We didn't even finish our appetizer when the main meal was put down in front of us. We weren't finished with our entrees when they put the desserts in front of us. We sent back the dessert and told them to wait until we finished with our meal. They came and cleaned off the table and put the dessert down -- the waitress came and asked us if we wanted coffee and when as she brought the coffee -- she dropped the check on the table. We were in and out in less than one hour. How rude -- it was 6pm and the place was not very busy. I don't know if we were treated like that because we ordered off the restaurant week menu, but after owning my own restaurant for years, you don't treat a customer like that. We were very disappointed and probably won't go back even thought the food was good.

I was very unhappy with Puglia of Little Italy in East Meadow during restaurant week on Friday November 9th. I had a 7pm reservation and No where did it say nor did the host tell me when I made the reservation that they wouldn't honor the Price Fix menu after 7pm. I had visted Butera's in Smithtown on Wednesday night and La Plage in Wading River on Saturday night and both honored the price fix menu after 7pm. I will not be going back to Puglia of Little Italy in East Meadow.

Had dinner at Fiddleheads in Oyster Bay for the last night of LIRW. It was also BYOB night, which represented a real savings and an opportunity to bring a bottle of Barolo I have been cellaring. That's the end of the good news. The meal was really not good. My wife's Pasta dish was inedible (they took the cost off our bill). The entrees were cold. Several choices that were listed on the website menu were not available. They ran out of bread! Portions were smaller than when I last ate at this restaurant. Ate at Garbrielle's in Rockville Centre earlier in the weekend. That was very good.

Just finished the last meal of 8 during this year's Restaurant Week at Wild Harvest in Glen Cove. The food and service were excellent. The wild mushroom pasta with chicken was delicious. What a perfect way to end the week. Thanks to the LIRW Executive Committee for setting this up. Hopefully more people will support Long Island restaurants throughout the year.
